About Ann
I was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire in 1965 as Ann Hennessey (some of you might know me by this, my maiden name). Academically I've always been very much an Arts person. My first degree was a BA. Hons Politics/Sociology, 2-1. Then I went to live in Madrid, Spain and teach English (language) for a year. After that I came back to the UK and trained to be a Teacher (PGCE Secondary). Then I trained for Primary.
My career was developing quite nicely. I secured a number of medium and long term positions, earning a reputation as an excellent behaviour manager and some of my classes were exceptionally challenging. In 2008 I passed the Open University Post graduate Diploma in Psychology, an area I have developed an interest in. I continued happily along this path until I decided in 2012 that I wanted to try something else.
Then one day I came across The Coaching Academy's free, introductory 2 day course and never looked back. Throughout the training process I kept thinking 'I wish I'd been able to do this for myself and others years ago'. As a result In the last 3 years I have passed my driving test, started my own business, begun to learn the guitar and develop my interest in music and got married. All things I have wanted to do for some time.
So now I am combining coaching and teaching skills to offer academic and personal solutions to young people and adults. My offering combines: Exam and study coaching, career and interview coaching, private tuition in Primary Maths and English and GCSE and A' Level English, health and relationships coaching, motivational coaching and goal setting, confidence coaching, organisation time management and communication skills.
Experience
My coaching qualification is the Personal Performance Diploma from the Coaching Academy.
I have been teaching for 22 years.
I run my own coaching practice based in Wakefield/Leeds, West Yorkshire and my clients are a combination of young people and adults. I have coached clients towards career and interview goals, career change, confidence, retirement and exam and study outcomes.
I also offer private tuition with coaching or as a stand alone service. I tutor in Primary SATs and GCSE and A' Level English.
Coaching style
I am a qualified Teacher myself who has been teaching continuously for 22 years. Therefore this is one of my areas of expertise. I am also a qualified Personal Performance (Life ) Coach and I have been coaching for 3 years. This is the other. I combine my skills to provide a unique service that enables young people and adults to achieve their goals and ambitions.
