Experience

With over 20 year’s line, senior and middle management experience, I have a first hand understanding of the challenges of managing and motivating diverse individuals.Before moving into consulting, Jane worked in a variety of roles, including recruitment, marketing, and facilities management. My interest in occupational pscyhology came about after working with a team of occupational psychologists when redesigning an office environment. At this point I realised that my first degree (in developmental psychology) had a purpose after all....

I have 17 years experience of evidenced based consulting in leadership development and coaching, organisational change, strategy, culture, dignity and diversity at work, the physical working environment, team facilitation, employer of choice and employee engagement, working across all three sectors. As a coaching psychologist, I particularly enjoy working with people who are in transition; for example, those who have recently moved into a new role, those who are considering a change in direction, and those who are seeking to build confidence at work. I also coach managers to deal effectively with performance issues and/or conflict, as well as 'self management' in the workplace, such as dealing with organisational politics, work life balance, stress and anxiety at work, impression management, and so on.

Coaching style

Coaching offers a bespoke, focused, and action oriented form of development in a supportive environment; it's all about co-creating the outcomes. Coaching can facilitate your development journey by building a deeper understanding of yourself: what helps you to achieve your goals, as well as the patterns of behaviour that get in the way.

My clients say that I have a remarkable capacity for listening, hearing what's not said, and asking the right questions at the right time. I believe that building a strong bond of trust between me and my clients is critical to coaching if it's going to achieve anything significant. Coaching is not a soft option: it can be, in equal measure, challenging, insightful, difficult, fun, and motivating.

As each and every coaching client is unique, I take an eclectic approach to my work. I draw upon my knowledge of Transactional Analysis, positive psychology, the Thinking Environment, and Cognitive Behavioural principles when working with my clients. I use psychometrics where I think they are helpful to the coachee - and am qualified to administer the MBTI (Step I and II), Hogan Personality Inventory, and the EQ-i 360. These tools can be helpful in the coaching process for raising self awareness and better understanding behaviour.

I believe that my coaching style reflects some of my core values:
- keep learning and challenging yourself to new things - it keeps your brain active and you just might discover something wonderful;
- scare yourself with little and big scares every now and then - they remind you of your potential and again, there is the chance of discovery;
- if something's not working out for you, then try something different - and focus on the potential positive outcome;
- whatever you're doing, find something in it that you enjoy.

Rates

I offer corporate and individual coaching rates.
