About Nancy
Nancy describes herself as a third culture kid—and finds it hard to answer the question “where are you from?” Her parents came from 2 different cultures and raised their family in a third. She came to the UK for university, then qualified as a nurse and midwife, and joined the the Army. After leaving the Army, she spent 5 years in health service training research, then was a co-owner of a successful Prontaprint for 18 years. During that time she also set up Roundtuit Publishing Services to help authors self publish and did a BTech in Information Engineering. Seven years ago, the print business was sold as a going concern. Since then, she qualified as a coach and a civil & commercial mediator. During the last 7 years, she has worked with businesses, social enterprises and charities to help them change their culture and become financially viable without losing their souls or their sense of humour. Roundtuit Durham (a partnership between Nancy and her husband) provides business and personal professional coaching, workshops and facilitation. As well as their own clients, they also deliver coaching services for X-forces, Enterprising Women and Social Enterprise Acumen. Nancy runs the Enterprising Women Durham networking and support group.
Experience
To add to years of experience as a business coach and mentor, I decided to undertake formal training in personal and small business coaching with TCA. I passed both my personal and small business coaching diplomas with merit. This has given me added skills at drawing solutions from my clients and giving them new perspectives.
I'm also an accredited Civil & Commercial Mediator with ADRg.
One of my recent clients said:
"Nancy has given me the confidence and drive to look at my objectives in different ways, shedding light on the areas of my business that I feel are worthwhile and focusing on what I know works well. I was beginning to feel frustrated that I wasn’t progressing as well as I had hoped. Nancy helped me to look at different strategies for solving problems and got me to think about what motivates and is really important to me and my business for it to thrive. " Christina Anderson, Founder & Director Dan Aid"
Another
It has been an absolute pleasure working with Nancy over the last few months. She has helped our organisation plan for the future by working closely with us to develop a strategic plan. Her knowledge, passion and communication skills are superb and have helped us achieve a great deal in a short period of time. I can't recommend Nancy highly enough. Coaching style
Coaching
Nancy specialises in helping people find and implement systems and develop their staff to make the organisation more effective and more fun. She facilitates change by improving communications and relationships. She enables people to communicate well in high stakes situation and gives them the tools to have conversations, not confrontations.
Mediation
Although recently accredited as a mediator, Nancy has years of experience in helping individuals and organisations to avoid confrontations, and in calming and resolving highly emotional conflicts. She is particularly successful in rebuilding trust and relationships, moving people from a defensive resistant state to feeling safe and accepting change.
Services
As a coach, Nancy works to make herself redundant by giving others the skills and tools to effectively manage their lives and businesses. Nancy is happy to act either as a sole or co-mediator to ensure the most efficient and effective solution is found. As well as mediation, she offers post-mediation coaching, mentoring and a range of workshops such as "Conversations not Confrontations", “How to Discuss Difficult Issues” and "Setting and Maintaining Standards without Conflict”. She is happy to visit client sites, Skype or telephone or arrange a venue for meetings or workshops.
