About Rita
I run my own coaching and consultancy company for businesses, professionals and students who feel they have not been able to fulfil their potential or face challenges with their confidence in a difficult environment. Prior to this, I ran my own property business for 25 years alongside teaching Business & Economics at secondary level and progressing to university level. As a result of client demand, I have become increasingly focused on helping individuals and companies to effect change through coaching, particularly on diversity issues.
Experience
My coaching experience includes working in public and private companies as well as with professionals ranging from solicitors through to accountants and management consultants. For example, my clients include those who have set up small businesses and made significant increases to their earnings through career progression. Most recently, I have worked with individuals from within the Metropolitan Police, including the Leadership Academy and black minority officers to accelerate their career progression.
Coaching style
I specialise in coaching for diverse groups such as women and ethnic minorities to help them fulfil their career goals and personal ambitions. As an Asian woman with 28 years of work experience, I am motivated to help these groups to overcome internal and external barriers to success through coaching and mentoring. My coaching sessions are an open space to discuss personal and confidential issues that you may be facing and to provide solution-orientated support that is tailored to address and tackle problems at your own pace. I have undergone professional training and have been awarded a qualification in Personal Development from the Coaching Academy and use DISC accredited personality profiling in my sessions. I am also passionate about providing coaching to students because of my own personal experiences helping my children to overcome their learning difficulties. I have 25 years of experience in teaching students from the age of 13 to 18, including common entrance 11+, GCSE level, A-level and degree level. During this period, I worked as a Private Tutor for a girls' secondary school and at Surrey University. I coached my children through their schools lives right up to university level, which was important in developing their self-confidence and goal setting skills. Subsequently, they both studied at top universities in the UK and are now working for leading international companies. This experience encouraged me to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in teaching children with specific learning difficulties, including dyslexia and dyspraxia. My coaching sessions help with overcoming learning difficulties through effective learning techniques and study skills, help with university choices, career planning and graduate scheme applications.
